      DescriptionDescription

      🔍 Description:
The Tiger Tail Sea Cucumber is a long, soft-bodied sand-sifter with brown-and-tan mottled coloration that blends into the substrate. It slowly slinks across the sandbed, vacuuming up detritus and expelling clean sand from the other end — essentially acting as a living sand filter.

It’s one of the safest cucumber species for reef aquariums, known for being non-toxic, hardy, and non-aggressive. While it can grow quite long when fully stretched out, it usually coils or tucks itself into rockwork during the day.

      Must HaveMust Have

      ✅ Why They're a Must-Have:

Ultimate Sand Cleaner: Constantly turns and sifts sand, removing organic waste and uneaten food.

Reef Safe & Passive: Will not harm corals, inverts, or fish — one of the safest cucumbers available.

Low Maintenance: Quiet, efficient, and self-sufficient once acclimated.

Improves Water Quality: Helps reduce nitrate buildup by removing detritus before it decays.

      Notes for SuccessNotes for Success

      ⚠️ Notes for Success:

Needs a Mature Sandbed: Thrives in tanks with established substrate and a steady supply of detritus.

Not for Bare-Bottom Tanks: Requires at least 2–3 inches of soft, fine sand to feed and burrow.

Handle With Care: Like all cucumbers, stress can cause evisceration — avoid aggressive tank mates and powerhead intake exposure.

One Per Tank Rule: A single cucumber can usually handle 30–100 gallons depending on bioload.
