The Scarlet Orange Reef Hermit Crab is a staple of many reef tanks thanks to its vibrant red-orange legs and peaceful nature. Native to Indo-Pacific reef zones, it patrols both rockwork and sandbeds, tirelessly scavenging for leftover food, hair algae, and other nuisance growths.

Unlike more aggressive hermits, Scarlet Hermits tend to avoid confrontation — especially when ample empty shells are available. They're reef-safe and rarely bother corals, making them an ideal long-term resident of mixed reef setups.
