      🔍 Description:
The Camel Shrimp is an eye-catching shrimp with bold red-and-white zigzag stripes and a “humped” back — hence the name. Also known as the Dancing Shrimp for its animated movement, it's often mistaken for the reef-safe Cleaner Shrimp due to similar size and body shape.

While Camel Shrimp are excellent scavengers and highly active, they are not reef safe. They are known to nip at zoanthids, soft corals, and sometimes LPS, especially when hungry or in low-nutrient systems.

      Must HaveMust Have

✅ Why They're Interesting (for FOWLR or non-reef tanks):

Fun Personality: Constantly moving, waving antennae, and interacting with the environment.

Scavenger Role: Helps clean up uneaten food and fish waste in non-reef setups.

Beautiful Display Invert: Striking coloration and unique hump-backed profile.

      Notes for SuccessNotes for Success

      ⚠️ Notes for Success:

Not Suitable for Reef Tanks: Known to eat or irritate coral polyps — best kept in FOWLR systems.

Avoid Confusion: Commonly mistaken for Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis); double-check before purchasing.

Mildly Territorial: May show aggression toward other shrimp in small tanks.

Feed Well: Will go after coral more readily if underfed — requires regular meaty food.
